americhords 2004 enter ep get a double reworking by two of our favourite producers: dan curtin and mark broom. ohios dan curtin metamorphic records delivers two diverse interpretations of >tighter my grip<. his first >track mix< is more in keeping with his recent stripped down productions on tuning spork, with a sharply produced linear reworking which focuses in on the original tracks vocals and shimmering synth riff. his second >string< mix sees him turn in another of his signature techno-funk classics, as only dan curtin knows how. long standing d1 collaborator mark broom, effortless as always, rearranges >phoenix< into two pulsating 4/4 grooves, with the originals haunting string line riding on top throughout both. again, as with recent d1 releases, this is strictly limited vinyl run of 300 copies

"dust science returns with fresh blood for 2007 on the faith is fear ep. weve been fans of fabrice lig for years her at dust. hes released an avalanche of great techno on classic labels such as kms, 7th city, fcomm and playhouse and hes done us produ with his first release for us. "access denied" is a surging, swinging, darkside monster thats relentlessly tricky and funky. the detroit pads are seriously tripped out and swamped in glitchy beats and stepping hi-hats, and theres some serious low end; its a hell of a track. regis and female are responsible for some of the best uk techno ever made. here they contribute c/chaos; performed live at the orbit in leeds, its simply massive, propelled by downward twisting strings and utterly slamming, intoxicating electronic rhythms. techno luminaries the 65d mavericks are renowned for their driving but innovative techno. only unreleased new tracks from dj deeon and slugo....though he s revered among chicago djs and around the world as the original master of ghetto dance music, deeon started small, on chicagos south side. he sold his dj mixtapes in the parking lot where he lived, and played house parties in the projects. these crowded living room parties started the feeling and inspiration for the sound deeon produced, music he simply refers to as, >for the strippers, for the street<. while tracks like >accelerate< on dance mania were doing well overseas, he was getting little support or play from local chicago clubs. deeon calls ghetto house the >stepchild of chicago house<. eventually the incredible response from his music forced the clubs to concede and play his records. these >techno with a ghetto edge< tracks have found way to the decks in clubs around the world. deeon found his home on chicagos own dance mania label, where he released hits like >let me bang<, >who you wit<, >da dick suck< and >the freaks<. deeon is currently signed to databass records, which is rereleasing most of his back catalog with new remixes!
